2a-8 Brambledown Road – Back Again!

Sadly, it’s not such good news on 2a-8 Brambledown Road.

As anticipated Churchill Retirement Living have lodged an appeal against the council’s decision to refuse their second application for planning permission for 31 one bed and 11 two bed apartments at 2a-8 Brambledown Road. The appeal was lodged with the Planning Inspectorate on 27 March.

As you will know, my colleague Councillor Jayne McCoy and I have strongly opposed both applications for this site and we will continue to do so. We hope that we can count on local residents continued support in this respect.

A date for the appeal to be heard has still to be set.

Wallington Old Town Hall – Planning Application Withdrawn

I would like to thank everyone who objected to the planning application by Orchard Hill College of Further Education to build a two-storey extension at the back of Wallington Old Town Hall.

My Lib Dem ward colleague Councillor Jayne McCoy and were opposed to this planning application, which would have been out of keeping with the character and architecture of this very important locally listed building at the heart of our community.

I am very pleased to be able to let you know that the college have withdrawn their planning application for the building.
