Strong Lib Dem By-Election win Worcester Park

I’m really delighted to be able to report that my friend and colleague Roger Roberts was elected to serve the people of Worcester Park in the council by election yesterday.

Roger has lived in the area for 40 years and was one of the Lib Dem councillor team for many years until May 2010.

Roger won the election with a whopping 1367 votes, strongly beating the Tory candidate into second place with 977 votes. Labour received a measly 315 votes, surely dashing their hopes of local support for the London Mayoral Elections in May.

Roger is a hard working local man and I’m really looking forward to welcoming him back to the Lib Dem team that will be working hard for the people of Worcester Park and the borough.

The by-election was called after Lib Dem Jennifer Campbell-Klomps had to resigned as she is moving abroad.

Turnout 33.48%
